I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best in your coming life together. Planning a wedding is a joyous and stressful time. There are many, many details to take care of; everything from registering for gifts to scheduling a reception hall must be taken care of before the big day comes along. There never seems to be enough time to get everything done. One detail that sometimes gets overlooked is the booking of a wedding officiant. A wedding officiant goes by many names: Pastor, Justice of the Peace, Marriage Commissioner, Priest, Rabbi, Wedding Chaplain, the list could go on and on. Basically, a wedding officiant is a minister or court official who is authorized by the commonwealth to perform the rite of marriage. He is the person who stands with you at the ceremony, administers your vows, oversees your first kiss, and pronounces you husband and wife. He also files your marriage paperwork with the court system so that you are indeed legally married. You want this person to be experienced, eloquent, and trustworthy.
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Scott Ziegler, I am an Assistant Principal and retired Police Chaplain for the Virginia Beach Police Department. I was authorized by the courts to perform the rite of marriage in July of 2000. I have performed well over a hundred weddings over the years mostly for friends and associates. I started A Beach Wedding because I saw that there was a need for quality wedding officiants in Virginia Beach and all of Hampton Roads, Virginia. My philosophy is that the couple should be the decision makers when planning a wedding ceremony. I will guide and make suggestions but you will choose what elements will be in your ceremony. I can accommodate all types of ceremonies, religious, civil, inter-faith, and themed.
